If you follow me over on Instagram, you know that I am prettyyyyyy low maintenance. While I like to dress up and pamper a bit, I like it to take no less than 10 minutes LOL. Really, who has time for more? We’re busy PEOPLE! As someone who likes to live life on the lazy but fashionable side, I turn to simple routines I know are foolproof. Daily outfits that are comfy yet functional, a simple beauty routine that freshens but doesn’t take too long, and of course, hairstyles that will make my 3-day old hair look brand new.
Since I know so many of you are also busy bees and love to elevate your look while simplifying your routine, today, I am sharing 3 Easy Hairstyles for Unwashed Hair that really make it look like you tried. All you need is some dry shampoo and conditioner, a few hairbands, and a teasing comb to transform your locks into something amazing.
One of my favorite hacks for extending the life of your hair between washes is dry shampoo. I know I’ve talked about it on here countless times and am obsessed with how it refreshes your hair in such a small amount of time. Statistically, as women, we have more days where we don’t wash our hair than do, and I for one know how hard it can be to keep up with great hair days when you don’t have time to wash it. So instead of throwing your hair into a messy bun for the 3rd day in a row (trust me, I’ve been there), let’s #banthebun and hack our way to better hair.

In these tutorials: I am using Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam, and Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist from the Pantene Waterless Collection. Together, these products work like a godsend! I have always been a bit skeptical of Dry Shampoo Foam, but wow do I love it. It really hydrates and refreshes unruly roots. There’s something about the way the foam reacts at the roots of the hair that really absorb excess oil from the scalp. Something I love is that the foam is free of drying alcohols, sulfates (a big hair no-no), and parabens, so I’m confident about putting in into my hair, plus it smells awesome. To use, simply dispense a small amount on your fingertips and massage at the roots.
The other half of the duo is Pantene’s Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist. While dry shampoo refreshes, dry conditioner helps to add a boost of silky smoothness to your hair, while fighting frizz. It conditions your strands with omega 9, for beautifully balanced hair from root to tip. The Pantene Dry Conditioner Mist is great if you have color-treated / heat-styled hair that needs some much-needed nourishment after a few days of styling. Seriously, you’ll love this combo.
For me, dry shampoo and conditioner are must-haves day in and out, and I swear once you start using them, you’ll be shocked how many great hair days you have.

What you will need:
- Dry Shampoo – I’m using Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam. This is the first dry shampoo I’ve tried that’s a foam and I’m obsessed! It really works its way into your hair and makes it look so fresh.
- Dry Conditioner – Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist is the current dry conditioner in my rotation. It helps to smooth & shine.
- Hair Elastics – I like the small plastic kind, you can get them at the dollar store, but a thin hair tie works too!
- Teasing Comb / Parting comb
To note: Before starting each tutorial, I added in my Pantene Dry Shampoo and Dry Conditioner Mist (which takes less than 2 minutes!) to refresh my locks before styling. They really help my hair to look cleaner and add texture to the styles. Now onto the tutorials:
Dutch Braid with Buns

Dutch Braid with Buns
- Part hair with a comb down the middle, all the way down the back of your head.
- Tie off one side into a ponytail or bun to get it out of the way.
- Start with one side. Grab a triangle of hair, starting at your part.
- Start your dutch braid (aka an inside-out front braid). The key part of the dutch braid is that instead of bringing each section over the middle the way you would with a regular braid, you bring them under the middle.
- Take the first section and split it into three. Bring the right piece under the middle piece, and then the left piece under the middle.
- Next, bring the right piece under the middle, but pick up the piece of hair under the section when you’re doing so. The trick is to keep adding small sections of hair so that they get incorporated into the braid, every time you bring a piece under the middle.
- Once you get to the bottom of your head, tie the braid off with an elastic.
- Repeat on the other side of your head. When the braids are completed, “pancake” your braid. Basically, this just means pulling on each section so it’s thicker.
- Once both braids are done, create small buns with the ponytails! They can be really messy and cute, and once I have the shape the way I like it, I add a few bobby pins to secure.
